Attractive places for recreation are located around the Zegrze Reservoir, in the Gostyniński Lake District and in the vicinity of Lidzbark. Residence tourism develops on the Wkra River in Glinojeck and near its mouth to the Narew. The estuary of Pisa to Narew is attractive in terms of stay. The vicinity of Brok and Urla encourage relaxation.

Sightseeing tourism is concentrated in places with outstanding monuments, cultural institutions, historical souvenirs or of outstanding natural values. The main tourist center is Warsaw. Płock is also important centers, Żelazowa Wola and Pułtusk.

Among the natural objects, the Kampinos National Park is of the greatest importance. Every year, a large group of supporters have rafting trips on the Wel River from Lidzbark. The values ​​of traditional folk culture are first and foremost known in the Zielona Forest.

Pilgrimage tourism is concentrated in places of religious worship: in Warsaw, Niepokalanów, Rostkow, Szymanów, Przasnysz and Czerwińsk.

The accommodation base which is the basis for organized tourism is the best in Warsaw, in some towns near Warsaw, on the Zegrze Reservoir, in Płock, in Pułtusk and in Lidzbark. Guide service is available in Warsaw and in larger cities. The food base and fuel are now available practically everywhere.

Healing and spa tourism is possible in Otwock and Konstancin-Jeziorna.
